NEWS AND UPDATES
August 25, 2015: Welcome back to Mason!

We're so excited to reunite with our current members and meet some new faces. :)

Two upcoming events for you to put on your calender:

  • Our fall interest meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 8th at 6 pm in JC Meeting Room F.

  • In honor of Suicide Prevention Month, Active Minds at GMU will be hosting a Come Out of the Dark event on Tuesday, September 1st from 7-9 pm at the JC North Plaza. Come decorate your own glow in the dark shirt to help shed the light on the stigma surrounding mental illness, learn about resources on campus, ways to get help, and how you can help others! CAPS AT MASON
MASONCARES

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides a wide range of services to students, faculty, and staff. Services are provided by a staff of professional counseling and clinical psychologists, social workers, and counselors. CAPS individual and group counseling, workshops and outreach programs are designed to enhance students’ personal experience and academic performance.

To support members of the Mason community in helping students access assistance, CAPS at Mason offers Mason Cares, a “gatekeeper” training. This program informs participants of the warning signs of suicide and coaches them in how to talk about suicide with and respond to students in crisis as well as how to guide them toward obtaining professional assistance.
